With the advent of the mobile revolution, the number of mobile apps in the app stores has been mounting at an exponential rate in recent times. Today, while there are millions of apps available, only a fraction of them are used. Most people fail to realize that it’s not just about building a good application – it’s about building something that provides value to your customers, and in turn, adds value to your business.

If you’re looking to build a mobile application, here are three vital steps that you must take to ensure that your build a product that customers want:

Step 1: Formulate your core offerings:

You shouldn’t be implementing random features simply because it’s ‘cool.’ You need to clearly define your core values, and make sure your mobile app aligns with it. During development ensure that your mobile app is an extension of your brand, offering users something that they can’t get on another platform. Most developers make the mistake of merely making a smaller version of a website when building an application.
Starbucks is an excellent example of an application that truly adds value to its customers, making beverage ordering and payments an easy affair.

Step 2: Fully exploit the available tools:

While mobiles offer limitations, you can still leverage their functionality to build an app with quality UI and a seamless UX. Smartphones offer in-built cameras, excellent processing power, GPS, fingerprint tech, gesture controls and more. Tap into the functionality provided wherever possible to help drive your core brand value.
For example, Tinder is a highly popular dating application that relies completely on the functionality offered by mobile devices to completely alter the dating scene.

Step 3: Use it to supplement your brand:

When building an application, remember, it cannot be your sole medium to reach out to customers. In several cases, customers might want to seal a deal through your website or physical store. Mobile apps can be used instead to augment the customer experience and alleviate specific pain points by offering enhanced ease-of-use.

For instance, Audi realized that very few people would prefer purchasing a car through apps and hence, built the Audi Connect App, allowing users to lock their cars, set timers and more.

Revolve your app development strategy keeping your end users in mind and align its functionality with your business. If you want to rise above and beyond your competition, teaming up with experts can prove beneficial. Hire experienced mobile app developers in Singapore.

Super Mario Run Now Available on Android: Find out more

Super Mario Run Now Available on Android: Find out more

Super Mario Run was recently (23 Mar) launched on the Google Play Store, following a successful outing on Apple’s iOS Store. It is made by famous publisher Nintendo and looks all set to be one of the highest-grossing games of all time. According to an official tweet from Nintendo, the developers released the game earlier than expected.

The game was released first on iOS in December and made Nintendo over $50 million in sales by the end of January. It has been downloaded on iOS over 80 million times till date.

What’s the Game About?
The Super Mario Run game is about a plumber called Mario navigating through dozens of distinct levels, collecting coins and power-ups along the way. It has a cast of other playable characters, like Princess Peach, too. You can also build a virtual mushroom kingdom, and there’s lots of content in the game to get you to come back to it daily. Mario is one of Nintendo’s biggest success stories and brings up fond memories for video gamer from around the world.

Do you have to Pay to Play?
Unlike Pokémon GO and other games that offered in-app purchases and let you play for free, you have to buy Super Mario Run to progress beyond a certain point. You can download and play the first three levels, but you have to pay $10 to unlock the levels after that.

Is it Worth the Asking Price?
Most of the major game reviewers have rated it to be satisfying. IGN, for example, has given it an 8/10 rating. Gamer seem to be satisfied with it (it gets download close to 70,000 times a day), too.

However, according to the sales figures, only about 5% of all people downloading it are paying for it. That tells us that either the game isn’t as good as the hype surrounding it claims it to be or that they don’t want to fork out money to unlock additional content.

Only time will tell if Super Mario Run will be as successful as top-grossing games like Clash Royale. If you own an Android device, Our Mobile Application developer will help to download it.

Building a Mobile App? Here’s How You Can Choose between iOS and Android

Building a Mobile App? Here’s How You Can Choose between iOS and Android

Creating a native mobile application is a costly and time-consuming process. Often, many SMBs don’t have the budget to build an app for both the Android and iOS operating systems.

If you’re being forced to pick between Android and iOS as target OS’s for your app, you have a difficult decision to make. Here are top factors to consider that will help you pick the best platform between the two:

Cost of Development

  • Research tells us that developing apps for iOS is much cheaper than Android. There are many reasons for that, including the fact that the iOS IDE (integrated development environment) is very easy to use and lets you churn out quality products quickly.
  • Android’s IDE is less optimized and developers often to have to make their apps compatible with very old OS versions and multiple smartphones, which increases costs.

Availability of Developer Talent

  • Because Android development is difficult and time-consuming, many development companies opt out of developing for the platform altogether.
  • Consequently, you may not be able to find developers for your app that have the experience you require, especially in your niche.

Target Demographic

  • Android users are concentrated in Asia, Africa, and South America. Developed countries like America and European nations prefer to use Apple’s smartphones instead.
  • If your organisation or target demographic is based in a developed country, you may be better off with building an iOS app.
  • If you’re trying to go global or just find more customers (Android has a market share of 70%), you will be better off with building an Android app.

Paid vs Free Product

  • About twice as many apps are downloaded from the Google Play Store as compared to Apple’s store. However, Google developers only make approximately half as much money from their products as compared to iOS developers.
  • If you want to make money from your application, it usually makes better sense to target Apple’s iOS platform.

Still having trouble deciding on which platform you should choose? An able mobile app development company – with industry experience – will be able to help you make an informed decision if you consult with them.
